Raft panpipe of Ambae in Vanuatu. Bue means ‘bamboo’ and balabala means ‘arranging in a line’. The name of the raft panpipe on the neighbouring island, Pentecost, with a very similar culture and language as northeast Ambae, is buabava. R.H.
