(b Padua, Sept 21, 1760; d Padua, April 13, 1822). Italian composer, organist and pianist. After studying art he received musical instruction from F.G. Turini at the basilica of S Giustina in Padua and became organist at the churches of S Maria del Carmine and S Agostino. He was known as an excellent pianist, a reputation which his own piano works substantiate. In addition to his sonatas for two and four hands, a group of 15 piano cadenzas reveal a formidable technique....
