(b St Rémy-des-Monts, Sarthe, Jan 21, 1828; d Paris, Jan 15, 1907). French composer. Born into a well-to-do family, Marie de Reiset started her musical studies at the age of six. Her earliest compositions were completed in her early teens under the tuition of Friedrich Flotow, a family friend; he left Paris, however, before her musical education was complete.
