(b Birmingham, 1755/1756; d Leicester, March 2, 1845). English composer and artist in needlework. She ran an educational establishment for women in Leicester and published several pieces of vocal music. Her oratorio David’s First Victory was performed in 1840 at the Queen’s Concert Rooms, Hanover Square, conducted by Sir George Smart. She wrote at least two operas, The Kellerin and The White Wreath, which were never published.
