(b Barcelona, March 4, 1907; d March 18, 1995). Spanish composer. She studied the piano with Gilbert Camins and Caries Pellicer, but it was more than 20 years after her marriage before she began to write music seriously. She studied composition with José Soler, and 20th-century music with Carles Guinovart; her desire for a wider knowledge of modern trends led to a particular interest in the Second Viennese School, from which her own compositional methods derived (with some deviation from strict orthodoxy). She was a member of the Asociació de Catalana Compositors, and her work has become more widely known in Catalonia through the series Muestras de Música Catalana Contemporanea....
