(b Subotica, Nov 8, 1924; d Skopje, Feb 13, 2008). Macedonian pianist of Hungarian origin, known for his superior pianistic technique and skill in playing prima vista. Palfi got his first piano lessons from his mother who was an amateur musician. At the age of 12 he graduated from the Academy of Music of Zagreb. During World War II he continued his education in the Cistercian school in Budapest where he took part in piano competitions and participated in concerts. After the war he worked as a teacher in the Music School in Subotica, started composing piano works, and worked as a répétiteur in the Sarajevo Opera. In ...
