(b Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Aug 5, 1925; New York, Sept 25, 1983). Bulgarian composer and music theorist. He was the son of Hristo Manolov and the grandson of Emanuil Manolov (known as one of the first Bulgarian composers, who founded the contemporary Bulgarian composition school at the beginning of the 20th century).
