Bulgarian choir. Founded 1 November 1944 by the composer Svetoslav Obretenov. In 1981 it joined with the Sofia Philharmonic Choir and took on its current name, having existed independently as the Bulgarian Chapel Choir prior to this. It consists of professional singers, and, thanks to its history of strong programming, its reputation has grown over the years.
