Albanian town. Under Ottoman rule until the early 1900s. It is known as one of the main centres (alongside Leskovik and Korça) that popularized saze renditions. In Përmet this ensemble consisted of a clarinet, violin, and two or three laouta. Professional musicians played in private and social celebrations, most frequently weddings and popular fairs.
