(b Gallicchio, Italy, May 6, 1859; d Mexico City, Mexico, 1926). Mexican orchestrator and mandolinist of Italian birth, active in the United States. Curti is principally known in Mexico for his invention of the Orquesta Típica Mexicana (Mexican Typical Orchestra) and his zarzuelas, and in the United States for his promotion of the mandolin.
