(b Westfield, MA, June 30, 1841; d Westfield, MA, April 20, 1922). American organ builder. He was the son of William Allen Johnson and worked at his father’s firm from age 16. He also performed as an organist. In 1875 the firm’s name was changed to Johnson & Son, and a decade later the growing popularity of Johnson organs and a disastrous fire necessitated a larger factory.
