(b New York, NY, Oct 8, 1913; d Minneapolis, MN, Aug 21, 1958). American Composer for film and television, arranger, and conductor. His only early musical training was a three-year period of piano lessons. He initially pursued law at USC, but left to perform full-time in a dance band he created.
