(b Erckrath, Dusseldorf, April 1723; d Antwerp, March 9, 1804). Flemish harpsichord maker of German origin. His name is given in some sources as Pierre Bohll, faiseur de claversimbels and carpenter. He arrived in Antwerp in 1745, probably attracted by the fact that instrument makers, among them J.D. Dulcken, also originally German, had been given official encouragement there; according to Burney, Dulcken was Bull’s teacher.
