Fretted stick zither of the Panjab and Jammu, northwestern India. The stick is about 80 cm long; a deep flat bridge of Indian type sits on a vertical projection at the lower end. Two large whole gourd resonators are tied into small wooden sockets at about one-quarter distance from the ends. There are seven upright brass-capped wooden frets and a nut; the single wire string is attached to a lateral tuning-peg.
