Octavian Cosma

Brânzeu, Nicolae ( b Piteşti , Dec 28, 1907 ; d March 7, 1983 ). Romanian composer and conductor . He studied music from a young age in his home town, then from 1926 to 1931 at the Bucharest Conservatory. After graduating in law from Bucharest University, in 1931 , he completed his education at the Schola Cantorum in Paris ( 1931–4 ), studying composition with Guy de Lioncourt. Brânzeu worked as chorus master and conductor at the Romanian Opera in Bucharest ( 1946–7 ) and from 1948 to 1972 as professor of music and conductor at the Arad State
