(b Temse, Nov 20, 1929; d Wilrijk, Dec 12, 1989). Belgian composer. At the Antwerp Conservatory she studied the piano with Jozef D’Hooghe and harmony with Yvonne Van den Berghe; Later she studied counterpoint, fugue and composition with Louël and Absil at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth. Placed second in the Prix de Rome contest (1963) and in the Queen Elisabeth International Composition Competition (1966), she won the Emile Doehaerd Prize in 1969. In 1970 she was appointed professor of counterpoint at the Antwerp Conservatory. She retired in 1988. Her works, rhythmically elaborate and solid in texture, have a dodecaphonic basis.
