(b Rio Clara, São Paulo, July 5, 1928). Brazilian pianist and composer. She studied the piano first with Nair de Souza and Hans Bruch and later with Dinorá de Carvalho, harmony and counterpoint with Oswaldo Lacerda and composition with Camargo Guarnieri. Although most of her career has been dedicated to performing and teaching, she has also been active in developing research into Brazilian folk music, at the Museu do Folclore in São Paulo. Some of her compositions, which are mainly instrumental and choral, have been published by Ricordi Brasileira (São Paulo), and a catalogue of her works was produced by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1977.
