Graham, Janet (Christine)
- Marie Fitzpatrick
(b Consett, Co. Durham, June 4, 1948). English composer, teacher and music therapist. She studied composition with James Iliff at the RAM (1966–71) and privately with Elisabeth Lutyens (1972–4). During 1989–90 she trained as a music therapist. Her music, written mostly for small ensembles, achieves a distinctive balance of lyricism and angularity, particularly in the vocal works. Already evident in earlier pieces, such as Atque in perpetuum (1974), this quality is fully realized in Until the Sunset Hour (1985).
