(b East Liverpool, OH, Jan 30, 1948). American composer and oboist. She studied music education and the oboe at Abilene Christian University, Texas (BME 1969), and music theory and composition at Hardin-Simmons University, Texas (MM 1971). She gained the PhD (1980) from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied composition with Karl Korte and the oboe with Richard Blair. She became professor of theory and composition at Abilene Christian University and director of the electronic music studios, and has been a guest performer with the Abilene PO. She is editor of the ILWC Journal.

Reid composes for both acoustic and electronic forces, often combining them. Her works have been performed throughout the USA and Europe.
