(b Sydney, Sept 2, 1958). Australian composer. She graduated in music from the University of Sydney (1981), then studied with Jan van Vlijmen and Jan Boerman at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In 1988 she was appointed to a teaching post at the Utrecht School of Arts. Despite being based in the Netherlands, she has continued to maintain musical connections with Australia and returned there in 1992 to take up a year’s residency with the ABC, composing for the Sydney SO. Many of her works were written for ensembles based in the Netherlands, including the music-theatre piece Voyeurs for the 1993 Holland Festival. Her tape composition Syzygy (1984) won the Martin Codax prize in Spain.
