(b London, Jan 1, 1978). British composer, partly of North African descent. O’Regan’s earliest musical influence was from his parents’ record collection. He listened to music from popular 1970s rock bands such as Led Zeppelin and The Who, as well as the big band jazz sounds of Glenn Miller. On frequent visits to Morocco and Algeria he was exposed to Andalusian classical music and popular Arabic music such as Raï and chaabi.
