Clair, Alicia Ann

(b Bushton, KS, Dec 15, 1946). American music therapist. Clair studied at the University of Kansas (BME 1969, MME 1975, PhD 1979) and later at the Colorado State University Center for Biomedical Research in Music, where she was a Fellow in the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. Between 1969 and 1975 she held several music therapy clinical positions in Missouri and Kansas. In 1975 she returned to teach at the University of Kansas, where she became director of the music therapy program in 1977, received a university teaching award in 1989, and has since held various other university, school, and departmental administrative positions, including university and school deanships. She was inducted into the University of Kansas Women’s Hall of Fame in 1984.
