(b East Orange, NJ, Dec 25, 1935). American organist. Her early piano and organ studies were with William Jancovius. She studied organ with Alexander McCurdy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton (BM 1957, MM 1961) and at the Curtis Institute (diploma 1960), and piano with Vladimir Sokoloff, also at Curtis. She pursued graduate studies at the School of Sacred Music of Union Theological Seminary. In 1960 she joined the organ faculty of Westminster Choir College, where she became head of the organ department in 1967. From 1993–2000, she served as principal organist of Princeton University. She is Professor Emerita of Organ at Westminster Choir College. Lippincott has given recitals widely in the USA and abroad (including many American premières), has recorded, and has conducted many summer organ institutes and European study trips. She is much admired for her solid technique and energetic teaching.
