(b Burnaby, BC, Sept 9, 1975). Canadian vocalist. A crooner in the vein of Frank Sinatra, he became a leading figure in the jazz vocalist revival of the 2000s. He was discovered by the producer David Foster, who helped him record his first collection of standards after the pair were introduced at a wedding. A rapid success in Canada, the UK, and Australia, the album combined big-band jazz with radio-friendly contemporary pop; in doing so it set a template that propelled Bublé to international fame. On subsequent albums he increasingly gravitated towards his own compositions, many of which became popular hits. Such songs as “Home,” “Everything,” and “Just haven’t met you yet” were all successful on adult contemporary radio. As a result his albums Call me Irresponsible and Crazy Love both reached number one in the United States and Canada.
