(b Fort Wayne, IN, Dec 4, 1946). American violinist and conductor. He graduated from Harvard University and studied violin with Ivan Galamian at the Juilliard School. He made his professional debut in St. Louis at the age of 16 and gave a number of concerts while at Harvard. Following his highly acclaimed New York recital debut (Philharmonic Hall, 1967), he appeared as a soloist with many of the leading American orchestras and made several visits to Europe, playing for the first time in Britain with the LSO in 1971. In addition to continuing a solo career, he has been active as a chamber musician, playing with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and participating regularly in the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival.
