(b 21 April, 1928, Cleveland, OH). American oboist, teacher, organist, and composer. John Corina earned degrees in music education (BS) and music history (MM) from Western Reserve University. At Florida State University, where he studied with John Boda, he earned a doctorate in composition. In 1966 Corina joined the faculty of the University of Georgia School of Music, where he taught oboe and was a member of the Georgia Woodwind Quintet. He was named professor emeritus upon his retirement. His involvement in church music as organist and choirmaster spanned approximately 50 years.
