(b Montego Bay, Jamaica, Aug 10, 1929). Jamaican trombonist, composer, and arranger. He started out playing light orchestral music, then joined Sonny Bradshaw’s bop band. In 1951 he traveled to Britain with the pianist Ozzie Da Costa. He worked in Germany for 18 months for the US Special Services and played in London with Tubby Hayes, Jimmy Deuchar, Dizzy Reece, Sammy Walker, Jiver Hutchinson, and Cab Kaye.
