Cylindrical Slit-drum of the Suku, Kongo, and Mayombe peoples of the western and southwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Amongst the Kongo the drum is of medium size, its narrow slit widened at each end to make square or circular openings. Amongst the Mayombe the term denotes a large cylindrical slit drum, while amongst the Suku it denotes a small cylindrical slit drum with a carved anthropomorphic extension as a handle. ...
