German firm of organ builders. It is based in Endingen, near Freiburg, with a branch in Hadamar. Friedrich Wilhelm Fischer (b Niedermarsberg, 7 July 1933) was trained by the firms of Mendel, Späth, and Freiburger Orgelbau, and his partner Johann Krämer (b Bad Kreuznach, 14 May 1943; d June 2003) by the firms of Späth, Köberle, and Walcker. Their business was founded in Schlatt, near Bad Krozingen, on I January 1970. The firm builds instruments with mechanical key actions in wood (without needle-bearings), and their pipe measurements are based on the Baden–Alsace tradition of Stieffell and Andreas and Johann Andreas Silbermann. The firm’s organs include those at the Catholic church, Schwerzen (1972; one manual, 14 stops; restoration of a Ferdinand Stieffell organ of 1792); St Peter, Lörrach (1974; two manuals, 32 stops); St Andreas, Freiburg (1976; two manuals, 27 stops); the Church of the Holy Ghost, Daxlanden, near Karlsruhe (...
