German family of organ builders. The business was founded in 1910 in Vlotho (on the Weser) by Gustav Steinmann (i) (1885–1953). He was a former pupil of Friedrich Ladegast, and was decorated by the Prince of Lippe with the Distinguished Order of Leopold. The business was taken over in 1953 by his son Gustav Steinmann (ii) (b 1913), who was trained by his father and at the Meisterschule in Ludwigsburg. Gustav was succeeded in 1978 by his son Hans-Heinrich Steinmann-Delius (b Vlotho, 31 March 1938), who took his examinations at Ludwigsburg in 1967 and also worked with Rudolf von Beckerath in Hamburg in 1961–2. Hans-Heinrich lectured at the Landeskirchen-musikschule in Herford from 1979. His son Jan Steinmann (b 14 April 1972) took over the firm in 2000.
