Bell of Tibet. The term is applied only to a few large votive bells in Tibetan monasteries and in Bhutan. Inscriptions on some of them show they were cast at the end of the 8th century ce by Chinese craftsmen and this would explain their name, zhong being Chinese for ‘bell’....
