Bamboo horn of the Murut area of central Sabah, Malaysia. It is made from four sections of bamboo of increasing diameters arranged in a rectangular loop (beginning with a narrow horizontal mouthpipe, then a descending pipe, then a horizontal pipe pointing back towards the player, and finally a wide ascending pipe through which the mouthpipe projects), forming a stepped quasi-conical bore. Examples vary in length from about 35 cm to about 65 cm and the instruments are often played in groups....
