Small fiddle of the Wielkopolska region of Poland. About 50 cm long, it has three strings; a typical tuning is a′–e″–b″. The mazanki is traditionally carved from one piece of wood (apart from the soundtable), though some are assembled like a violin. The bridge has the treble foot resting on the soundtable and the bass foot extending through a hole to rest inside the back of the instrument....
