Electric piano developed in Paris in 1928 by Joseph Béthenod (b Lyons, France, 1883; d Paris, France, 1944). Béthenod was one of the French pioneers of wireless radio and worked at the Eiffel Tower radio station during World War I. His piano électrique had a seven-octave keyboard.
