Italian family of composers and musicians.

(b Vicenza, June 29, 1851; d Vicenza, March 24, 1933). Composer. He studied in Vicenza and was organist at the cathedral there from 1885 until his death; he also taught the piano, harmony, counterpoint and composition. Three of his five operas were performed; Seila, the first, was his only success. The plot is from the biblical story of Jephtha and is treated in the manner of a grand opera, with choruses shouting ‘Vittoria’, marching bands on stage and ballets. Critics considered Coronaro too much under the influence of Verdi and Gomes. He also composed piano pieces, songs and sacred works.
