(b ?Zakynthos; fl ?1830–40; d after 1900). Greek composer and pianist. The earliest known modern Greek woman composer, she was a composition and piano pupil of Nikolaos Halikiopoulos Mantzaros in Corfu. Her fantasias Les souvenirs (op.26) and Fantasia sulla romanza ‘Il lago di Como’ (op.27), and Regret pour la patrie (op.28), were published in 1839 by Francesco Lucca in Milan. According to Kalogeropoulos, her best-known compositions are the piano waltz I epithymia (The wish) and the 3-part choral song Osan oneiro i agapi (Love [is] like a dream), with a text by Ioulios Typaldos. She reportedly died after 1900 at a very advanced age.
