(b Linz, Dec 3, 1857; d Vienna, March 8, 1944). Austrian composer and pianist . She studied the piano with Julius Epstein and counterpoint with Anton Bruckner in Vienna (1876–7), then entered the Vienna Conservatory, where she studied composition with Franz Krenn (1877–9). She was a member of the Austrian Composers’ Union and the Vienna Bach Society, and president of the Vienna Women’s Choral Society, for which she composed works. Many of her vocal works, which include operas, melodramas, and sacred and secular cantatas, are settings of texts by her brother, Richard Kralik.
